It often happens that we work on interesting projects, but we cannot disclose much of what we do to the outside world. But this particular project that we execute together with Engie for a data center yields special numbers that appeal to the imagination.
4 main distribution boards were built in the Okken system by Schneider Electric, 7.10 meters each, 6.300 Amp nominal and 100 kA short-circuit resistance. A total of 23,686 kg of copper was used in these panels, which amounts to 1,030 kg / m2.
Lean
Moreover, the production process was scrutinized and optimized for this project. Working smarter: that was the motto. By working with so-called just-in-time delivery. But also by assembling the Compact NSX - the Schneider Electric circuit breaker - in-house instead of having it done by Schneider in France as is customary. Despite all efforts to make the production process as lean as possible, it turned out to be a ’heavy project’. But that of course had everything to do with the enormous amount of copper that has been used!
