Opra Turbines

Succesful revision power test panel

May 2017, Hengelo - The Netherlands

In line with the current need for sustainability Elektro Internationaal recently installed a completely revised power test panel at Opra Turbines in Hengelo (the Netherlands).

The panel was originally engineered and built by Elektro Internationaal for testing gas turbines meant for generating power and heat in industrial settings. In 2008 the panel was transported to the Opra plant in Norway and installed on site. Unfortunately the ongoing economic crisis resulted in Opra having to close down the plant in 2010. Opra decided to bring the test panel back to the Netherlands were it remained stored in sea containers up until six months ago.

Meanwhile the economic winds started blowing the right way resulting in Opra building a new plant in Hengelo. Opra asked Elektro Internationaal about the possibility for the panel to be reused. Not only to avoid costs, but also to prevent wasting precious materials. After due consideration and consultation, Elektro Internationaal was granted the order for revision.

The panel was succesfully revised and expanded after which it was brought to its location by transporter Van Dam. There it was installed and connected by our service engineers. All to Opra’s satisfaction.
